Leak Detection
Swimming Pool Leaking? Swimming Pool Losing Water? Swimming Pool with excessive topping up?
We all know the stress and worry a leaking pool can produce, excessive water consumption, ground settlement caused by leaking water, increased chemical consumption, however many leaks can be identified and remedied very easily we offer a 4 stage process and costs listed below. Over 75% of pool leaks are solved within 1 hour! Do not delay repair you leak today!
Deep End Pools have a four step swimming pool leak detection programme that systematically allows us to find your leak in the quickest and most straight forward way.
Initial call out and investigation
An additional investigation is always the first step to any leak detection process. The initial investigation will involve a survey of the swimming pool and the swimming pools surrounding areas.
A Deep End Pools engineer will visually inspect the pools shell for any obvious faults. Then the swimming pool plant room will be given a full visual inspection. The Engineer may also test run the equipment on different lines to help narrow down the faults. This will first eliminate obvious fault such as a faulty MPV or Leaking pump / filter.
Pressure test all accessible pipe work, this will establish pipe work failure
After the initial visual inspection the next port of call is a Swimming Pool Pressure Test.
A swimming pool pressure test involves each accessible swimming pool pipe line being charged with pressurised water to SPATA standards, normally 15–20 mins, this allows us to see if the pipe runs underground, behind the pools shell or under the plantroom are leaking. Each line is checked in turn and this test gives a true yes or no answer for each pipe line.
Sonar leak detection, with a sonar listening device we can establish water tracking to earth using sonar detection
If the swimming pool is losing water when there are no leaks in the plantroom and good pipe lines underground the next step is a sonar detection test. Sonar swimming pool leak detection is one of the most advanced swimming pool leak detection systems available. The Sonar allows us to hear where the water is escaping from the pool.
On older pools there may be more than one area within the pools shell from which water is escaping. The specialist test has found some hairline cracks that have not been visual from poolside and easily miss able once inside the pool.
One of the most advanced swimming pool leak detection methods available.
Dye testing, using dye injection we can trace water movement to failed items connected to the pool
Once the leak has been tracked down using the sonar equipment you can “Hear” the leak but using a specialist dye it makes it possible for us to “see” the leak.
Using the dye in the known faulty area allows us to see in which direction the water is moving. So if the water is escaping from the swimming pool, we will be able to see the dye going through the bad area.
By completing the tests in the above stages our elimination process ensures you leaks are located.
